Death begets death, so we turn back the spirit of Death. With penitent hearts, we reject and release the former dead things that have corrupted good soil turning it into desert places and turning our land into the Badlands. Have Mercy on us Lord and forgive us:

For courting the spirit of irreverence for a Holy God, His will and His Word: it is Spirit and life; for harboring or expressing hatred toward His most precious creation; one another; for contempt toward His Chosen People and toward His redeemed people – even for taking for granted His very breath of life, and HIs presence within us. Have Mercy Dear Lord.

For courting and failing to renounce the spirit of murder and death in programming content that we’ve consumed on television, in movies, and on film; where we’ve invited fascination with the living dead, the walking dead, the undead to manifest our own live version of a zombie apocalypse; for giving wicked spirits of the air room to usher in plagues of suicide, of homicide, infanticide, genocide, and now a globally deadly pandemic. Have Mercy Dear Lord.

For courting and failing to renounce the lusts of the flesh; a spirit of greed and selfishness that leads us away from properly stewarding the very earth The Lord God commanded that we have dominion over. Have Mercy.

For not renouncing the perversion of God-given relationships; for embracing the lusts of the flesh and the debasing of the flesh and undermining human dignity in entertainment and in all The Arts – allowing them to develop into flagrant abominations in the face of a Holy God. Have Mercy Dear Lord.

For self-centeredness and self-absorption: disregarding, the widow, the poor, the orphan, the hungry, and alone, the naked, the lame, and the oppressed including our persecuted brothers and sisters everywhere. Have Mercy Dear God.

For factionalism, favoritism, and for the erection and the worship of idols; be they friends, family, figureheads, leaders or celebrities; be they position, status, wealth, lack, poverty, suffering, gifts, talents, abilities, history, democracy, oligarchy, ancestry, culture, class, ethnicity, health, sickness, prosperity, charm, charisma, false pride, gluttony, vanity, purity, impurity or carnality; be it the worship of our very own flesh, or any other false Gods that would dare exalt themselves against The Lord God Most High. Please Have Mercy on us Dear Lord..

For preferring the lie to His Truth. For arrogance and rebellion; for failing to acknowledge and set aright distractions, obsessions, or reckless pursuits. Have Mercy Dear Lord.

For failing to learn of Our Savior, and to learn from from Him, and to learn our truest identity in Him. For not becoming what you’ve redeemed us to be: strong and courageous and humble, and loving and merciful and faithful; and for failing to bare good fruit in and out of Season that others may eat of it, and might taste and see that The Lord Our God is Good and His mercy endures forever.  Have Mercy on Us Dear Lord.

For failing to repent of our individual failings and blindnesses while on watch; and for failing to recognize, and renounce and halt the convergence of evils in the earth. Have Mercy Lord.

Life begets life. Now thanks be to God, Who is yet able to keep us from falling, for drawing us again into your marvelous light. Help us Dear Lord to be Your vessels of light in the earth – without fear, that all might turn from death and darkness toward You. Help us to surrender our collective blindness, and be warmed, embraced and healed; that any attachment to dead things might be released from us, and the stench of decay replaced by the sweet aroma of Your matchless life-giving love for us; such that all are reanimated by Your very breath of life coursing through us – causing these dry bones to live – again. Now the journey to new life in Christ begins anew…
